Dispatches From A Plastic Planet

35.00

This is essentially Numb2 with a serious environmental edge.

After I made Numb with Ian Battrick we kept going, finding more waves (most of which are on hard drives or in our memory, never published or instagrammed).

Along the way though for me the adventure had to have more purpose than simply finding waves and shooting incredible pages. We also had to start showing what was increasingly going wrong, thus, the plastic project was born. At first it was just a case of raising awareness alongside the book Numb, and in the magazine I edited, Wavelength. It then grew into something of its own.

I started filming and have made Dispatches From A Plastic Planet, but I am primarily a photographer so it was natural that a book would join it. At first it was three volumes, which have long sold out, but thanks to everyone who has shown an interest we are combining them together into one book. A journey through Norway, Scotland, England, France, Iceland and Ireland with some classic characters, finding way too much rubbish.

Essentially though it is a continuation of Numb, cold adventure, epic waves and tales to go with them. A always they were done on an absolute shoestring, and the profits from each either go back to the plastic project or to the 2 Minute Beach Clean. There are none of the separate volumes left (they were very limited to 100 copies), there are 500 copies of these and they retail for £45, which I know isn't cheap, but the 188 pages are more than worth it.

Deliver late July/Early August, all signed and numbered.
